Did you know that…?

  • Dogs can distinguish between about 150-200 words and commands!
  • On average, dogs can run up to 30 kilometers in an hour, depending on the breed.
  • The largest dog in the world by weight is an English Mastiff, who weighed 155 kilograms!
  • Dogs use their tails to communicate: each wag of the tail means something different.
  • Dogs can “hear” frequencies up to 65,000 Hz, which is several times higher than humans.
  • The oldest dog in the world lived 29 years and 5 months!
  • The Chihuahua breed can be not only small, but also very long-lived - up to 20 years.
  • Dogs can remember their owners by smell for several years!

Dogs can sense people's emotions

Surprisingly, dogs are able to recognize human emotions. Studies show that dogs can distinguish joy, sadness, and even stress in their owners, and respond accordingly. This is due to their highly developed social and emotional bonds with humans. For example, when an owner is stressed or anxious, a dog may try to calm them down by hugging them or simply staying close by.

Average life expectancy of dogs

On average, dogs live between 10 and 15 years, but life expectancy varies greatly depending on the breed. Smaller breeds such as Chihuahuas, terriers and Shih Tzu tend to live longer than larger breeds such as Mastiffs or St. Bernards. In addition to breed, proper nutrition, activity level and regular visits to the veterinarian will affect a dog's longevity.
