What should be in the home first aid kit for pets? First of all, it is necessary to focus on the individual characteristics of the cat or dog. It is recommended to have at least a minimum standard set of drugs for all occasions.
How to assemble a home first aid kit?
Box for a first aid kit
Purchase a special box for storing medications and medicines for the pet. There are many options available. We advise you to choose a transparent plastic box – this will make it easier to find the medication and care for the box itself.
Sheet with information about the veterinary center
Place a sheet inside the box with information about the address, phone number of the veterinary center and the doctor’s name. The doctor’s name can be found on the “Our Specialists” page. You can print and attach this insert.

Specialized drugs for emergency treatment of poisoning
If you suspect poisoning, you should immediately take your pet to a clinic. But if you know exactly what the pet is poisoned with, you can take emergency measures. If possible, consult a veterinary specialist:
- Vitamin B6 – in case of poisoning with isoniazid (a favorite poison of doghunters), administered intramuscularly or intravenously.
- Vitamin K – in case of eating poison from rats and mice.
